IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY OF UAE

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of Covid-19 on the hospitality industry of UAE, to achieve this purpose, a questionnaire used as an instrument to gather primary data from the participants working in the hospitality industry of UAE, using non-probability convenience sampling. The responses collected from 325 individuals working in the UAE hospitality industry out of total hospitality workforce of 400,000 by using an online questionnaire.

Factor analysis used to indicate the intercorrelation of independent variables and dependent variables. The KMO value of variable indicated 0.890, which is in the meritorious category, and the findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between Fear of Contagion, Travel Restrictions, Operational Challenges and UAE Hospitality Industry. Multiple regression analysis and Correlation shows that Fear of Contagion, Travel Restriction and Operational Challenges have a significant and positive influence on UAE Hospitality Industry. According to multiple regression analysis, 75% of individual believe Covid-19 negatively impacted the hospitality industry of UAE, explained by the Fear of Contagion, Travel Restriction and Operational Challenges. Furthermore, recommendations for future study is provided in this research.
