The Chinese Outward FDI: Under the Background of “The Belt and Road Initiative”

Abstract

In the 21st century International Business World, Chinese outward foreign direct investment (FDI) has increased to be an emerging phenomenon. Though there are many interest or concern have been given to the Chinese outward FDI，someempirical researches have been launched to analyze the core determinants about Chinese outward FDI. After the launch of “the Belt and Road Initiative”, Chinese outward FDI was even considered as a concern for many host countries. This paper attempt to conduct a research about the key motives about Chinese overseas investment after 2015. According to analysis, this study findthat
Chinese overseas investment is attracted by large market, meanwhile, government policy played a significant role in oversea investment activities. However, natural resources and institutions showed little influence on Chinese FDI.
