TALENT RESOURCES RETENTION IN FOREST CITY BY COUNTRY GARDEN REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY IN MALAYSIA

Abstract

The purpose of this research or study is to determine the factors that influence talent retention at Forest City by Country Garden Real Estate Development Company in Malaysia. Furthermore, the research intends to unearth the influence of recognition, compensation, work life balance and family prospects on talented employees’ retention within the company aforementioned and to suggest the strategies that could be implemented by the company. Since the war for talented employees has increased more and more, companies compete for high performers; thus with the aim of avoiding outflow of talented employees, retention approaches have gained significant importance. Consequently, the retention of employees and mostly of the talented ones continues to be a key priority for most companies across the world.

This study has used quantitative research method and through closed-ended questionnaires, a sample size of 350 employees of Forest City by Country Garden Real Estate Development Company in Malaysia has been investigated. The correlations analysis have revealed that recognition, compensation and career prospects are significantly positively related to talented employees retention within the company; and also that since work life balance was a concept well implemented in Malaysia, it was not significant in influencing talent retention.

The findings and recommendations of this research are significant for employers as they will enable them to design adequate remuneration and recognition packages, along with clear career prospects with the aim of retaining their best performers. And they will enrich the existing literature in the area of talent retention.
