Poor achievement of students’ performance can be caused by the unfavourable learning process, in which innovation on learning process is very crucial to have (Ulfa et. al., 2016). Mobile devices with Internet Capabilities and innovative applications have drastically improved the convenience of learning process and information acquisition for university students, hence there are some significant determinants that might impact the acceptance of mobile learning, which are Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Self-Management, Perceived Playfulness and Facilitating Conditions. This study uses UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) as a grounded theory to develop proposed theoretical framework and data analysis. Furthermore, this research uses online questionnaire as the data sources and quantitative methodology was employed. There were twenty-seven items from diverse research domains were developed in the questionnaire to measure five independent variables that will influence the intention of private HEIs students to use mobile technology to improve academic performance, especially at Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
The focus of this research is to investigate the determinants that will influence the utilization of mobile learning adoption to improve students’ academic performance. As such, quantitative method will be utilized to determine the data and the outcome will be supported according to the relevant statistics. Furthermore, the conclusion and recommendations will be given in this study, thus the outcome will be harmonized regarding the influence of mobile learning adoption to improve students’ academic performance.
